What can I expect with my appointment?
During the initial consultation, we will review your in-depth history of symptoms, previous testing and treatments and your typical diet. We will order stool testing to be completed in your home. During the follow up consultation, we will review stool results, a customized treatment plan, nutrition and diet changes. Further follow up appointments are recommended at 3, 6 and 9 weeks to monitor improvement and address any new concerns.
*Additional testing may be recommended as needed.
What type of relief can I expect with treatment?
All of our body systems are connected to our gut. Treating your underlying gut dysfunction can not only relieve gut symptoms but also lead to improved mental clarity, increased energy, regulation of thyroid disease, decreased burden of autoimmune disorders, resolution of headaches, decreased anxiety and depression and more. There are so many whole body benefits with treating gut dysfunction.
How is functional medicine different that seeing my primary care provider or a GI specialist?
Unlike traditional medicine, which is often limited by insurance coverage, functional medicine offers science-based testing and treatments without these constraints. Functional medicine addresses the root cause of your chronic gut issues, rather than relying on acid reducers, laxatives, or other medications prescribed for symptoms management.
Why can’t I just take probiotics?
While probiotics can be helpful, it is not often addressing the root cause and can make symptoms worse.
Why can’t I just take acid reducers (pepcid, prilosec, etc)?
Medications like acid reducers, Tums, and Pepto-Bismol only mask symptoms and can worsen the problem. The gut is complex, and there’s no one-size-fits-all pill that can address the many different issues that can arise. A personalized approach that targets the root cause of your specific gut problem is the key to you achieving lasting results.
Do you accept insurance?

You can easily submit this to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. We do accept payments from a Health Savings Account (HSA) and/or Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
